Soulmate Adventure Two-Part Special
Aug. 23rd, 2024 11:24 pmdouqiA two-part special episode has been released for wuxia donghua Soulmate Adventure (风灵玉秀, pinyin: feng ling yu xiu). Both of these are now available free-to-view on Bilibili's YouTube channel. There are English subtitles for the first part, but not (yet) for the second part, as of the time of writing.
The special episode follows on from the second season of the donghua, which finished airing some time ago. Many fans felt that the second season was a letdown, as much of the focus was taken off the main pairing of Feng Ling'er and Bai Yuxiu. The special episode has generally been received positively, and is viewed as something of a return to form (there's even a scene where the main characters discuss whether their hypothetical co-founded sect should be called the 'Lingxiu Sect' or the 'Yufeng Sect; this, of course, is highly readable, and probably be intended to be read, as a discussion of who's going to be the top in the relationship).

douqiI'm painfully aware that (1) this comm really needs a resource post on baihe audio dramas and (2) I really don't know enough about audio dramas to be the person to write it. If anyone wants to write such a post, please please please go ahead and do it! You'll have my eternal gratitude.
Fortuitously though, Fanjiao — the specialist platform for baihe audio content, itself a spin-off from the lesbian dating app The L (formerly Rela) — celebrated its fifth anniversary a few weeks ago, with a long video featuring 49 baihe voice actresses, so I've decided to shamelessly glom on to it and provide an introduction of sorts to audio dramas via sketching out the profiles of each VA featured and listing their major works. The list is set out below in more or less alphabetical order based on pinyin. The focus will be mostly on the Fanjiao-hosted dramas which each VA has participated in, but I will provide details of their voice work on other platforms and media where I'm aware of them.

Baihe Donghua: Resource Post

The simple reason for this is that there is, to date, a grand total of one baihe donghua — Soulmate Adventure (风灵玉秀, pinyin: feng ling yu xiu; sometimes given the more literal English title of Spirit Wind Elegance). This is an original donghua, in the sense that it has not been adapted from an existing work. There is, to date, no donghua which has been adapted from a baihe novel.
