Mar. 22nd, 2026 09:05 pmOne of the great things about reading a novel by Wu Liao Dao Di (无聊到底) is that she's in the habit of commissioning art for basically everything she writes. Here are the pieces she commissioned for The Rose in the Abyss (深渊的玫瑰, pinyin: shenyuan de meigui).
We start out with two pictures of the main couple striking cool poses against their post-apocalypse landscape:

Next we have Chai Yuening and Chu Ci's first meeting:

Character portraits (that's Chai Yuening on the left, Chu Ci on the right):

The city in the sky, one of the only two known human outposts left on earth:

A couple of illustrations depicting mid- to late-book events. 一大只梨子 (Weibo account now deleted) is credited as the artist for these two illustrations.

Our protagonists confront the source of the black vines that have overrun the planet:

The rejuvenation of the world:

All images and credits taken from the author's Weibo account.
