lol you and your aversion to long novels. Please Be On Standby sounds a heck of a lot different than Please Take Your Seat

I think it's rare that a novel actually needsto be longer than 1 million words! Maybe this is the exception, we'll see.

Also, all things being equal, the longer a novel is, the exponentially greater its chances of collapsing into a mess. At which point I start yelling at the author (who can't hear, obviously): 'LET ME EDIT YOUUUUU'

Have you ever approached any of these writers? Maybe they'd let you help them make their stories better? But editing is so much work. You ought to get paid to do it!

Also, have you ever read anything that was long and also very good? In any language.
